Now don't get me wrong, only last week v Crewe I went on my own to a game. I sat quietly, read my programme and spoke briefly to a few people I knew.
What I didn't do was talk continually to the person beside me.
Today I chatted to my mate who I went with only to be continually interrupted by the most annoying man. It isn't the first time a home game has been marred by a singleton in the SSU.
Has anyone else ever had there day out marred by a moron sat beside you. All I'm saying is there is no shame in going to a game on your own, but don't annoy others with endless drivel!

Yep had a mad drugged up guy next to me last season, kept swinging his arms all over the place, hitting me several times, not it the face. Was generally just mad and kept going crazy over nothing. Then near the end of the game, he started smoking a fag in his seat. So that game was ruined by that guy for me.

Could you not have ignored him? Or said, "Sorry, I'm talking to my friend"?

Don't know really, just guessed I was expecting him to stop and calm down ;D He also turned up to the game 10 mins late with a few other people, so I wasn't going to try and find another seat during the game and I thought he had gone to another seat in the second half, but again turned up after the second half had begun.

The guy next to me is a complete moron. It's like being next to someone who parrots what everyone says around us 5 seconds later or he simply goes off on one at the most random times. He hates any player that can be seen to be a striker. Constable. Shit. Potter. Shit. Craddock. Shit. Pitman. Shit. They're all shit, all the time.
I'm at the point where I'm struggling to understand why he goes to football as by the end of most games he's nearly having a coronary.

Junior provides commentary for my block of the East Stand but it's part of the experience now. With Junior one side and John just behind, I think I would feel a little uncomfortable if nobody was chirping on all game. One lad in front of us bit at full time though, but disappeared without taking it further.

I didn't shout Wilder out. The 2 I was with did. Get it right Beav.
Edit : also numerous people behind us shouted it.

There is a lad near me who feels the need to give us a running commentary of the game whilst telling all the players what to do. Personal highlight was at yesterdays game when JPP scored. He was shouting play it wide, pass it, pass it. Clearly getting quite wound up by him not passing, obviously JP scored, and he seemed a little confused as to whether or not he should celebrate or be angry that said player never took his adive

Not really Simon. The bloke who Dougie referred to appeared to shout to them telling them to f-off. Natural in the heat of the moment they'll react like that..

Fair enough. I didn't see who said it. To be fair imo both reactions are understandable ( in the circumstances ) and not right.

This thread provides another very compelling argument for bringing back terracing thus making it much easier to move away from some of the annoying (and worse) individuals that go to football.

This is why i decided to sit in the north stand.I can choose a nice empty area with a pretty decent view Without someone kicking my chair behind me or even getting an a ear full of spit from a fat bold moron. I often sit on my(Billy no mates) theres no same it that. Its a shame but understandable when me friends don't wanna go along each week to pay £16 to watch a side such as hereford

Not got a problem with you voicing your views, just the manner you seemed to call that guy on. Didn't even hear what was said but you were confident as you were 3 v 1 and he was walking away. I'm sure you did but I'll believe you when you say you didn't, not that it's a big thing.

Beav, I didn't see who said it so confident as 3 v 1 is a bit silly. As I said to Simon what i thought he said was out of order to say to fellow ox fans. As we're the 2 calling for wilder out. Although that's their opinion. Put it all down to frustration.

Everyone seems to sit next to each other on the forum! Lonely right-sider that I am...
I've never really had the problem of someone ruining my match experience, to be honest. There's a few nutters around, but most of them seem to provide just as much entertainment as the match. One guy would bellow unintelligibly for about 60 minutes, causing us all a few chuckles, then when the ref made a bad decision around that time he'd exclaim 'RIGHT THAT'S IT!' and determinedly set off down to the bottom. I was worried he was actually going to come on the pitch and punch the ref in the face.
People like that make it sound like it'd be quite fun to go to a game on your own, to be honest.

Gotta say, all the shouting, hair pulling, bullsh*t match day banter is part of the reason I love watching Oxford.
Lots of things are said in the heat of the moment, lots of bravado and name calling. Seeing someone totally losing it because a ref called a throw in wrong, just makes me realise how passionate fans can be. Watch Fulham fans celebrate a goal to realise what the alternative would be like!
But, like I say to my boys, what's said at football stays football!
