Why do so called fans continue to smoke during the game and at half time?
Today at half time there must have been at last 10 - 15 openly smoking.

Yep, so did I but it all seems to have gone quite. Wouldn't suprise me if they start smoking in their seats.

Some so called forum users really ought to get a grip. Why can't you just not have a p*ss for 45 minutes if you don't like the smell of smoke? You are not a 2 year old who has no control over such things. There are plenty of places to urinate around the ground before the game and I suggest you use one before the game. Surely you can hold it in for 90 minutes.

Nope. A pop at the non smokers who claim going without something for 45 mins is easy. Don't like it smokey? Just refrain from having a slash and problem solved.
That was my so called point.

I mean if you can't hold your breath for 15 mins - they've had all day to stock up on oxygen........ bloody non-smoking scum.....

Your first post was funny but that is ridiculous if you are being serious! Pissing is a biological necessity, smoking is not.

I just don't understand why even though it's going to end up causing big problems and costing the club a fortune people can't refrain from having a ciggie for 90 minutes. I manage it just fine and I smoke 10-15 a day. I bet the people who seemingly can't help themselves are able to go without for far longer when it comes to going on a plane.

Went to a game after a bout of the squits thinking I was better so had a couple of pints, regretted it after having to make a couple of trips to the toilet. Still was marginally more hygienic than soiling myself.

I think it was a bit silly of Kassam to put toilets in the smoking room etc.
I go to home games with a couple of regular smokers, they seem to cope fine at half time.

Why don't they have a smoking area that you pay for? Like 15 quid for a season ticket to the smoking area.

The things that makes me laugh is some of the smokers genuinely can't understand why some people have a problem with it and why the club have clamped down on it. One bloke yesterday was having a right old tizz about not being able smoke in the toilets.

It often strikes me the smokers seem to have lost the vital link in the chain of logic which leads them to arguments about smoking in the bogs. The only reason they are trying to smoke in the toilets is because they can't smoke in the stand because its illegal. Who would choose to smoke in the toilet if they could do it on the terrace? They automatically recognise they can't smoke in the stand so head to the toilets to do it seemingly forgetting while doing so the reason why they aren't staying at their seat to smoke.

Never mind the fact that if they smoked in their seat - which is outside - it would actually be better for everyone compared to filling a small room made of brick with smoke. It wouldn't be any more or any less illegal. I guess they just don't have the balls and feel safer psychologically by sneaking off to the toilets like children.

maddogmickey's post is as ridiculous as it is disrespectful as it is pathetic
Sorry mate - it's a toilet. You live in a COUNTRY which has no banned smoking in such situations. If you don't like that, f*cking move somewhere else
Whenever this situation has come up I've always said the club should be putting something in place to create a smoking area. I fully respect a smokers right and, in some cases, clinical NEED to smoke and think that it's wrong to not put something in place to counter that
But to expect people to just be ok with you breaking the law, rules of the stadium and totally antisocial behaviour so they can go to the f*cking TOILET - which actually is a biological human need, unlike smoking which is a self-induced, and entirely self-harming practice, makes me sick
Disgrateful post

Many smokers still see smoking as a right (Which is fair enough, it's not illegal) But in a football ground and any confined area it is that is the whole point If you can't go without then a football ground is not somewhere you should be Its the club that ultimately will pay the price when the inevitable fine comes Personally I think the club must act....................but they won't I did suggest 3 years ago that the simply solution is to have a area outside fenced off outside the gates where smokers can legally go and smoke. This is something they manage and umpteen grounds. I have seen it here, I have seen it in the USA at Boston Redsox and OUFC should understand that there is a need and do something about it
