Good win for the Cobblers.
Steve Evans has said to the media the result was a travesty as the Millers battered the Cobblers for well over an hour.
I've heard this from him many times in the past and he is never graceful or magnanimous in defeat !

It will take 10 games to sort out who is going to be challenging for promotion this season at least but As long as Steve Evans team isn't up there i'm sure many on here will be happy.

The guy is a complete cock in every sense of the word. I remember when we lost quite heavily to Crawley he went on about how it should have been ten or eleven. You just don't say that sort of thing in the media. I hope he gets his come uppance.

The guy is a charmless t*at. I have learnt to just ignore his utterances, as they used to annoy me hugely.

It was a great game for us, but to be fair it could have gone either way. We had a load of chances in the first half but Rovrum were better in much of the second. They were more assured on the ball than us which was completely at odds with the constant histrionics from their management team. I'm all for passion but Evans and his sidekick Raynor were an embarrassment all round with their behaviour. Chrissie Hackett scored a screamer and looks like a great signing for us. I've heard the only reason he's signed is because he wanted to move back to Oxford with his new family so I'm surprised you lot didn't grant him a return.

www.northamptonchron.co.uk/news/local/county-cricketer-david-willey-apologises-after-labelling-people-from-northampton-scum-and-calling-the-town-a-dive-1-4184077County cricketer David Willey has found himself at the centre of a Twitter storm after he labelled people in Northampton ‘scum’ and called the town a ‘dive’. The all-rounder, son of former England star Peter Willey, made the remarks on the social networking site yesterday. He said: “What is it with the majority of Northampton being incredibly rude! #mannerscostnothing #scum” In response, his County Ground teammate Niall O’Brien asked: “Town centre?” to which Willey responded: “Yes, terrible isn’t it! Absolute dive!” ... Willey, who was born and bred in Northampton and was a former pupil at Northampton School for Boys, added: “To clear up yesterdays tweets for those who are genuinely interested, I popped in to Northampton Town Centre to get barged by one guy who didn’t apologise, held the door open for a family who didn’t say thank you and flashed a car at a junction and didn’t get a thank you. “Admittedly my comment was extreme and I’m aware all Northamptonians are not scum so I apologise to anybody who I have offended. “I do believe Northampton town centre needs improving but to call it a “dive” was an exaggeration.”

I think Evans is brilliant - he says what he likes, doesn't care what anyone else thinks and enjoys winding people up.

The batsmen's Holding...the bowler's Willey.. ..Oh Evans above! Gloucester City fans equally gracious with their sour grapes, accusing Oxford City of cheating! Their little group on several occasions singing 'We hate Oxford'!!! Must say, poor City support for such a fixture...two of us singing...no more than ten altogether!
